Gas Connection in Delhi

Gas connections in Delhi are provided by mainly three corporations i.e. Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (Bharat Gas), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HP gas). 

Every urban as well as rural family is eligible to get a Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Connection, however one family can have a connection of only of the above mentioned corporations. LPG connections can be taken for both domestic as well as commercial use. For domestic use one can take a 14.2 Kg cylinder or a 5 Kg cylinder whereas for commercial use 19 Kg and 47.5 Kg are available. A gas stove can also be taken from any of the gas connection companies after paying additional charges.

Documents required when registering for a gas connection in Delhi

One needs to provide an address proof as well as an Identity proof at the time of registration:

After one has registered with any of the corporations mentioned above either at their office or online, a receipt with date of registration and registration number is issued which can be further used while depositing the fee. Apart from the cylinder companies also provide a regulator, a rubber pipe, gas stove (additional charges which is optional), A gas connection passbook and a certificate of gas connection. 

Lately it has become important to fill the Know Your Consumer (KYC) forms to keep a check on multiple connections.

Indraprastha Gas Limited PNG connections

As LPG is now an expensive option there is an alternative in the form of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) provided by Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL). One can enter a request for such a connection by first searching for the availability of pipelines in their area at Customer Zone. One can also lodge a request on phone by dialing the following number
